Public Record Notice
This edition brings together court documents, testimony, correspondence, laboratory reports, published material and Stephen Russell's account. The evidence catalog identifies sources; the chapters explain how the author understands them together.
What This Archive Publishes
The record includes several kinds of material with different roles:
- Published accounts — ChappaquaPoison, the family archive StevieLovesEvie, and ABrieGrowsInBrooklyn. Publication dates and the individual passages matter; inclusion here does not make a blog post sworn testimony.
- Public court record — filed documents, judicial orders, appellate rulings, and docket entries from proceedings in four jurisdictions.
- Sworn testimony — declarations, depositions, and trial testimony filed in open court proceedings.
- Discovery materials — Bates-stamped documents produced during litigation, cited by exhibit number.
- Published media — independent journalism and third-party reporting.
- Author accounts and working drafts — recollections, interpretations, correspondence and proposed filings, identified separately from court findings.
A source may support one part of a passage without establishing everything around it. The edition identifies material source limits and unresolved references rather than assigning numerical confidence scores.
Originals, Extracts and Descriptions
Original documents retain their wording. An extract identifies the document and pages from which it was taken. A summary is editorial text, not a replacement for its source. A document's presence in the catalog does not by itself establish that it was admitted at trial or adopted by a court.
When a source has not yet been located, that is a gap in the available documentation. It does not by itself disprove the author's account. When a record contradicts a description, the description needs correction.
A Note on the Court Order
On March 22, 2023, the Appellate Division, Second Department, replaced the February 2022 order's blanket deletion provision with a narrower directive and affirmed the order insofar as appealed from. Remaining speech restrictions were upheld; the custody award was not vacated. Read the official decision for its terms.
The legal record page distinguishes that decision, the filed Article 78 petition and the unfiled federal working drafts. A working draft is not a pending federal action.
Corrections and Challenges
Send the passage, the proposed correction and its supporting record through the contact page. A page or paragraph locator helps the author check the original and its context. Questions about interpretation and corrections to documentary facts are both welcome.
The Methodology page explains the approach to sources and reconstruction.
