F-045 — PHASE V, POST 41

LaMelle Confrontation — September 19, 2019

The Setup: Orchestrated Ambush

In September 2018, the mother orchestrated an event during a visitation with Evie to cause the father to break the restraining order she had obtained against him. Despite a court Order prohibiting the mother and her father (Grumpa Walsh) from being present at Evie's pick-ups and drop-offs, the mother requested that Evie be dropped off at the Walsh residence. However, no one was there to pick up Evie. Instead, there was a car parked in the bushes with its lights off.

One year later, on September 19, 2019: The father arrived at the designated pickup location with the court-appointed supervisor Claudette LaMelle for what was to be his first scheduled visit at the driveway leading to the Walsh family compound.

The Supervisor's Account — Claudette LaMelle Affidavit

"As we stopped, Mr. Russell and I both notice a car parked on the grass among the bushes. Entering the roadway, I noticed a dark car parked behind the bushes on the right side with blacked out windows and no lights on."

— Claudette LaMelle, Sworn Affidavit, September 25, 2019

A voice yelled out from the darkened car. Was this the Walshes? It must be. Pickups and drop-offs had occurred here before. The gate to the private road leading to the Walsh family compound remained closed. There were still no lights on in the car, as Supervisor LaMelle walked toward it. With Evie in her arms, she stumbled as the pavement turned to grass and dirt. The vehicle was oddly parked back among trees and bushes.

"Those aren't the Walshes. Those aren't the Walshes. I don't know who those people are."

Claudette ran back to the car yelling, as documented in her affidavit. The father got out of his car and stood between the men and his daughter. Movement had triggered the gate, causing it to open and Claudette and Evie drove through up the long private road leading to the Walsh estate.

The Unknown Men

When the lights of Claudette's car faded, the father was left in pitch darkness. Still no lights were on in the vehicle on the side of the road, but as his eyes adjusted, he clearly saw the silhouettes of two young men. He pulled out his phone, turned on its flashlight, and started recording as he walked toward the car.

It was:

Pushed down between their legs were what looked to be baseball bats.

They turned their lights on. The younger Meenan went pale as the father approached the car gripping something that looked like a baseball bat with both hands. He held it between his knees, just barely visible as the father approached the window. The older Brendan Walsh pulled out his phone and dialed 911, falsely claiming that someone was trying to break into his car, trespassing, and violating a restraining order.

The 911 Call Pattern

This was the second time that Brendan Walsh had called 911 on the father. A year and a half earlier, he had called 911 in San Francisco from New York, stating that the father had beaten the mother unconscious. When police reached out and visited their home, they found the mother and father contentedly watching a movie on the couch.

Brendan Walsh is an unusual individual. According to family accounts, he fell in love with blood and body parts after an internship with a surgeon. He subsequently started a blog where he chronicles shootings, suicides, and other violent events. He rushes to crime scenes with a press badge and starts taking pictures.

Violation of Court Order

After a Court Order barred the mother and Grumpa Walsh from being present at pickups and drop-offs, the mother's brother Brendan Walsh and cousin Brian Meenan waited outside the gates to the family compound in the pitch black. The mother had rescheduled the visit to complete two hours later than previous visits, suggesting coordination to create this encounter.

Official Response

A police report was filed regarding the incident. The responding officer told the father that he had warned Brendan Walsh not to be at future pickups and drop-offs. However, in discovery in the San Francisco Battery Case, the mother's sister's text messages would show that Brendan Walsh became furious after talking to the police. He was not going to allow any more visits and asked his sister (the mother) to file a response.

The mother filed a Temporary Order of Protection (TOP) on March 27, 2019, claiming she witnessed an incident that, in fact, she was not present to witness (she was approximately a quarter mile away at the family compound). Instead, she wrote what Brendan Walsh told her.

The False Narrative

The mother's TOP filing falsely described events, claiming the father had violated the court's visitation order by appearing unannounced. However, the visitation was a properly noticed visit with the agreed-upon and court-appointed supervisor, exactly per the court's instructions. The father's visitation order explicitly stated that he "SHALL" have visits with 48 hours notice, and it was the mother who "shall not be present at pickups and drop-offs."

Despite this clear factual record, Grumpa Walsh refused to come to the subsequent hearing in April 2019 to corroborate his daughter's statement. Without corroboration, the matter was left to expire — but not before inflicting years of delay and obstruction on the father's access to his daughter.
