### Jackman's Key Statement (Verbatim from Email)

"With respect to 'bruises', I advised you that Tara reported to me that Evie returned from a visit with her father on Sunday, March 31 with a big bruise on her shin that was not there when she left for the visit. I told Ms. Walsh that it wasn't unusual for a child Evie's age to sustain bruises on her legs now that she is walking. Ms. Walsh did not raise the issue again. There is no 'injury' to Evie's neck. The child has a rash on her neck that is referred to as a 'drool rash' which you can imagine occurs when the child drools excessively and the saliva collects in the folds of the neck and causes irritation. This is not uncommon in children of Evie's age especially when teething. I believe that Ms. Walsh has responded to and treated this issue appropriately. As I stated, I have a release and have requested the child's medical records but there is no indication that Evie is not being properly cared for."

### Analysis

1. **Jackman confirms Tara reported the bruises** — Tara told Jackman about a bruise on Evie's shin that "was not there when she left for the visit." This is Tara attempting to blame Steve.

2. **Jackman minimized the bruises** — She told Tara it "wasn't unusual" for a child Evie's age. She did NOT address the pinch bruise on the upper thigh. She did NOT address the four symmetrical marks. She only addressed the shin bruise.

3. **Jackman's conclusion** — "there is no indication that Evie is not being properly cared for." This despite: (a) three adults documenting injuries on arrival, (b) both parents reporting the bruises as concerning, (c) a family with a documented history of child abuse.

4. **The scare quotes** — Jackman puts "bruises" in quotation marks. The AFC for the child puts the child's injuries in scare quotes.

5. **"Ms. Walsh did not raise the issue again"** — Jackman treats Tara's silence after being told the bruises were normal as case closed. She does not consider that Tara's silence might indicate she knew the bruises were not accidental.

### Steve's Reply (same thread)

Steve responds the same day, writing to his attorneys:

"The bruise on the shin situation is exactly the reverse. We documented two dark purple bruise areas that were clearly sustained previ[ous to the vi]sit. Bruises like this don't form during a visit and there is no record in the report of any fall that would have caused. For her to write this with a straight face is crazy."

"We can't go along with anything they suggest."
